The Coffee Shop Meet
Module: Industry Brief
Software: Autodesk Maya
Prompt: Amy arrives for a coffee meeting and checks the time, realising her friend is running late. Frustration begins to set in as she paces briefly and checks the time once more. Just as she looks up, her expression shifts, and she spots her friend in the distance. Her mood instantly lifts, and she enthusiastically waves, inviting her to come join for coffee.
More about the module and my task:
As part of my Portfolio module, I was given an industry-led prompt focusing on Body Mechanics, specifically the task of weight shift. The challenge was to develop a short 8-second animation that told a complete story with a clear beginning, middle, and end.

I chose the theme of "Everyday Situations", intending to create a moment that feels relatable and grounded in real life. My goal was to capture a subtle but familiar human experience, the kind that allows the audience to instantly connect and feel seen. I wanted to reflect on the small but meaningful stories we all live every day.

Below, you can explore my process from initial concept and planning to the final polished animation, highlighting how I approached storytelling through movement and emotional connection.
